Postbit Hack

I just thought of a really cool and useful postbit template hack but I dont have the time to complete it.
Its actually fairly simple-
All of you must have seen forums with huge amounts of information and images in the postbit
which tends to make the actual posts and replies look very small(alot of empty space).
If you were to add a post length requirement, lets say, 25 to 50 characters as a conditional to the full postbit, otherwise, it would only display the user name.
This would shorten the forum with the minimized postbit for those who have short replies
and also gives members an incentive on posting lengthy replies.
In summary:
Condition= If your post is too short, your full postbit will not display(ie, only your name and rank?).
If the length of your post meets the minimum requirement, your full postbit will then display.
If anyone would like to develop this idea into a hack, I would be very grateful.

He wants to show the really long posts and not show the really short ones. It sounds like you want the opposite.

That would be incorrect, they are both asking for the same thing, if a post is only 25 to 50 chars, the conditional will only cause your user name to be displayed, if the post is over 50 chars, the full postbit is shown.

It would probably be best to have this moved to the requests forum anyways, its actually a good idea.

Interesting mod idea (I think I need some more coffee so I can read correctly though!). But yeah, the Requests forum would probably be best for this.

Sorry, in my haste and excitement, I failed to see a requests section.

ok, threads being buried.
I'll try to find some time to do this.
This would probably only be useful to those who use postbit_legacy
Does anyone happen to know the var for checking the post characters
within the postbit?
