Setting up Test Board

Hi guys, i need to set up a test board on another server. I have moved the board to the other server already but upon logging in i am bought back to the production forum and i am not able to access the admin cp. I am trying to utilize the same database but i'm not sure whether that can be done. Please advice.

From the sounds of your post, are you saying that the test board is connecting to the live DB running on the live site?

If that is so, you should not be doing so, you should use a seperate DB for both sites.

I'm a bit unclear on what you have done. You have a live site on one server and want to set up a test site on another server? You need to to a sql dump of your live database and copy it over to the test server and then put the database up on that server. You need to also change your config.php file to have the name of this new database along with the username/password to the new database. Have you done all of that?

I just copied the production DB and set it up on the TEST server, i upgraded to a later version on the test server and i completed the installation.

Right now i just cannot access to the admin cp, upon login vbulletin recognizes me but i got redirect to the login page again.PLease advise....

Please upload tools.php from the 'do_not_upload' folder of your vBulletin distribution to your admincp directory. Now point your browser to admincp/tools.php.

Reset the cookie Domain and Path to the default values.

Once your problem is fixed please remove tools.php again from the server.

If this does not solve your problems, please clear your browser cookies and cache, restart your browser and try again.
