Scrolling web "crawler" ? Message bar
 

A client wants, what she calls, a web "crawler" on the site.
I know what she is looking for is not a webcrawler - typical spyware to seek information off sites...

what she is in fact wanting is a scrolling marque bar - member driven - AJAX style - Moderated.

members to submit a "message" to be displayed in a scrolling message bar on the page.

It has to be moderated so people dont type just anything inappropriate in the box.

somebody lead me in the right direction.

This is going on an external page, non VB, but the page will be a .php page to allow stats and login

Seems simple enough, write up a form to submit messages, sanitize it and load it into a table with userid, time, etc. As well as a on / off switch.

Write a simple admin interface to Approve / Reject messages. Approved messages get flipped on, rejected ones deleted or set to a always off setting.

Query for last 10 or so, use javascript to build a scroller, quite a few tutorials on that floating around.
