Auto Log in via Cookies
Hey,
This is my first thread, basically started because I can't find the answer via searching the forums or through the ticket system. I'm trying to find a script which will automatically log a user into the forums externally. I'm using PHP, and have come across the vb_datamanager_user class which is very useful. I'm just wondering if there's a similiar class which allows cookies to be set externally so the user doesn't need to log in? So basically I create a user with the vb_datamanager_user class, and then I log them in too. Any ideas? Thanks! |
If your users tic the "Remember Me" box, they will be auto logged in, thats a default option.
If you mean something else then please elaborate in more detail. |
Sorry if I didn't explain it well, basically I've got my main website (separate to the forums). A user signs up there, and I also create them an account for the forums via vb_datamanager_user. This is done by php. I'm looking for the php commands to make them automatically logged in to the forums when they log into my main website (not the forums) so they don't even need to enter their username and password again.

I really don't mean to be a drag, but does anyone know if this is possible? If it's not possible, that's all well and good, but if anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it.
