My forums rolled back to 4 days ago. I didnt do anything.

I woke up this morning to find all the posts and PM's in my forum had been rolled back.
Nothing done the past 4 days exists on my forum.
I didnt mess with anything in my forum the past few days, and i was sleeping when it happened. (my own first instinct is to see if i screwed something up)

Anyone know what could cause something like this ?
I just contacted the host, but they take about an hour to get back to tickets.

BTW... im using 3.6.8

Your host lost all data and they restored everything from a 4 day old backup.

I host with "A Small Orange".... im still learning my way around things, is this loss of files accepted practice ?

Its bit strange actually, a good host like a small orange should not loose 4 days of data,
write to them or visit their forums to check whats happening.

Just happened to me, too...5 days worth of data, GONE! But my web host is Yahoo, not A Small Orange. This is the final nail in Yahoo Web Hosting's coffin...I'm moving to DreamHost tonight.

The tech I talked to agreed with me when I said it sounds as if a server reset itself...I was having issues back on Thursday night.

Its back now.
The host was able to get me back to a backup from 2am this morning.
It took them a few hours though and he mentioned that it wasnt just my site, but he didnt get into specifics.
My next ticket is to ask specifics of what happened :D

Knowing is half the battle!

I host with A Small Orange too.. and yeah, they've been having some problems now and again but really jump on helping when needed. One 'cool' thing they offer is from the control panel the ability to backup and download your entire site... I do that once a month, cause.. "Ya never know"

I've never lost more than about 12 hours worth of data in the two years I've been with A Small Orange.. I think they really care..

and in 2 months you'll be moving again. I suggest finding another provider besides dreamhost if you enjoy your site working fast and most of the time.
