sticky about installing games
 

I think there should be a sticky about how to install games...I am having a hard time finding any threads about the process. Am I to put the tar file under tar directory or what???

Put the tar file in the tar directory and in your Admin Control Panel select Add a game under the arcade tab - you should see a list of all the uploaded tars.

If you're installing manually you need to upload the xxxx.swf to the arcade folder any images into the arcade images folder and if there is a gamedata folder it needs to be uploaded too.

Then................

Goto AdminCP > Arcade > Add Game

Game Name - game title
Set on/off - On
Highscore Type - depends on the game
In Category - whichever category you use
GNAME - the name of the swf (minus the .swf ie yeti10.swf would be yeti10)
Decimal Points - if the game has decimal points scoring enter it here (usually 2)
Background Colour - Hex Code
Game Width - like the title says
Game Height - like the title says
Description -
Objective -
Keys -

You will find the gname,background colour,width,height,objectives,keys in the included .ini file that comes wit the compressed ibproarcade/v3arcade/pnflashgames file.

Remember gname is the name of the .swf file minus the .swf extension

Thanks. I did that for tar files but the zip files won't work.

Zip files go i the arcade/zip/ folder

Make sure you CHMOD 777 the tar,tmp and zip folders.

sorry..one more thing.The game came with an html file. I remember for v3 arcade there was something to do with a php file included. So what am I to do with the html file? I think I have to put it somewhere and not putting it causes the scores not to be recorded. When I click submit, it goes to their site..

On this subject...

And I hate to be a newbie here, but where do you get games from? Obviously any old flash game won't work as it will need to be coded to report high scores etc back to the server, so there must be somewhere to get these games.

I see people saying things like "I have 100", "I have 600" games, the only source I have seen is http://www.pnflashgames.com and to be honest the quality isnt that good.

Clicking some of the forum links people have put in the sigs here, takes me to forums that have some amazing games. So where are they all??

And why is it such a mystery? Shouldnt there be a sticky up there somewhere with this information?
