Revert The Pervert

Ok , Now does Revert Mean your Switching to the New Style of Template or does Revert mean your switching to the old one meaning the one you have currently running is the old one ,

If you upgrade VB and it says 10 Templates need reverted , Are you using the new templates at this time ? or do they want you to revert to the newer ones ?

Im sure im making this harder than it is , but this is something thats been clear as mud to me for a while :)

I've been wondering the same for a while now big boi.

well from what ive noticed

if its a template you made like

custom_yourtemplate

and you press revert then it deletes it

if its a template in vb and you press revert then it will take all changes you did off

basically making it the way it was

hope that helps

it'll revert it to the original template without any of your edits.

one reason why i hate upgrading and will probably not upgrade to 3.7 :)

Definitions of revert on the Web:

* go back to a previous state; "We reverted to the old template"

So if you reverted your template, then it would make it go back to a previous state (by default, the default template)

But thats not true when you revert you switch to the newest version of the template on upgrades

Which is the default when you do a fresh install of the board. When you revert, you go to the default template for that installation. If you revert a template you made, the it goes empty because that was not a default template for that vbulletin installation (unless you first created it in the Master Style and you are reverting it in another style).

Perfectly stated. You will revert to the "current" default template used in your current vB version.

It dont have anything to do with the Dates last edited ?

If the New Default was Edited Before or After the Last Time I Edited that Template , Will Reverting be different ?

If you Edit a template After the VBulletin Gods Updated it (TIME STAMP) then you will revert Backwards?

If you Edit a Template Before the Vbulletin Gods Updated it (TIME STAMP) then your will revert Forward?

Does the Templates Created/Edited (TIME STAMP) have any Effect on Reverting?

In a nutshell, reverting will bring you back into the default template code for the version you're running (regardless of timestamp/upgrading/etc.). The only exception is reverting a custom template, which would be deleted instead.
