Is there anyway to merge two databases ?
Hi, is there anyway to merge two databases ?
Databases are from different vb forums. |
Yes.. You can merge databases with SQL Merger

To merge two vbulletin db's correctly, use Impex, which is downloaded from vbulletin.com memberarea.
|
Thanks. But which one should I use, because I dont want to lose any data.
|
Use the one from vbulletin.com members area, thats why its in the members area at vbulletin.com
|
Unless you're merging vB 3.7...Until it goes Gold the Impex for that version won't be released as fars as I understand it.
|
What if I want to import one vB database into another... is Impex the right tool for that? What I've read so far (at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116398) seems to assume you're importing from phpbb or some other forum software.
So I guess the question is... is there a better or simpler way to join two vB forums? THe new one is 3.7 and the old is 3.0.x if that makes a difference. ...oops, just noticed that the original question was for two vB databases. Sorry... any other advice though? :o |
