understanding bookmarking,tags and seo?
 

there is a new feature in 3.7 for bookmarking (digg, google, ect) and tags

to give you a idea of what i have...

i have a vb site about 2 years old that is a active local motorcycle site w/ about 1200 good solid members in my region. all my site has been built on word of mouth and myspace bullitens. i wanna stay local and expand maybee 100 miles around my city.

my question is how does this digg, ect bookmarking buisness work? whats the point of it and can it help me?

the same question w/ seo.. i use the default meta tags and picked up a few pointers on site name ect around the forums but thats my extent of seo.

and this tag buisness.. is this somthing i should be looking and trying to use?

ive seen google maps, word clouds, vbseo, tags, social bookmarking and all kinds of hacks.. am i missing the boat and do these things fit my local forum? i have always assumed all these tools were geared to help big boards or national sites. am i way off?
