how to call posts in nonVB pages
 

I am trying to find what code needs to be added to a custom PHP file, and what needs to be put into a template to sucessfully call a post.

Basically what I am trying to do is create a custom page around a main news posting bit. This news posting bit will be tied to a forum. I want to post to this forum and have only the first post displayed on this main page.

I want to call the post text, post date, time, etc.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this while still maintaining the automated system VB has in place to display the first post, then when I post a new thread it will replace the old thread being displayed on the main page?
