The new thread prefix function - Filtering to show multiple prefixes

In vBulletin 3.7.0 there is the new thread prefix option which greatly organizes a forum.

I was thinking - Would it be possible to create a mod which would allow a user to filter by MULTIPLE prefixes rather than just a single prefix?

Also would there be a way to save their preference, for example in a cookie so they didn't have to change it every time they viewed a forum?
