Hack Support

This hack is now obsolete. It will no longer be updated and has been discontinued, because Jelsoft have added it to vBulletin's core installation, as of v3.7.0 Beta 6 (released Fri 7th Mar 2008). This means that while it will remain available for download and use, no support will be provided as the thread is no longer monitored.

Please click Mark as Installed if you are using this hack.


vBulletin Version Compatibility

This hack can only be used with vBulletin v3.7.0 Beta 2 to v3.7.0 Beta 5.


What Does This Hack Do?

This is an hack adds an extra option to the Search drop down list on the nav bar to allow quick access to the Tag Search page.

There are no file or template changes at all, and is phrased.


Installation Instructions
  1. Import ms_tags_link_nav.xml into vB using the AdminCP Product Manager. If upgrading then set Allow Overwrite to Yes.
  2. In the AdminCP, select vBulletin Options > Tag Search Link On Navbar Search, enter the usergroups that you want to see the extra link.

Uninstall Instructions
  1. Uninstall the product in vB using the AdminCP Product Manager.

It would be better if the actual tag search field was there instead of a link.

I was pointing out that your mod would be more useful if it were to place the tag search field there. The old zoints tagging system did this.

I am sure I could go in and change things around to get this function...but then again why would I want to?

Mate, it was not childish, it is in response to the original callous remark that you originally posted before you made your edit (you added an extra 2 lines) which should not have been posted in the first place if you were not going to use my hack. I am fed up of people who do not release anything here making snide comments about hacks that people who do release here for free.

If that was not your intent, then you should not have posted it in the first place. The extra 2 lines you added in put it in an entirely different light, so I am not apologising for anything, as I was replying your original one line comment.

So, before posting comments in the future, please consider the impact of your comments on the people you are posting to/about.
