How to make navbar go across whole page?

I'd really appreciate some help with this one, thanks!

We would love to have our navbar go across the entire page. Right now, it only goes over the forums. We have the Ultimate Side Columns hack installed and would like that under the navbar, not to the side of it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Take it out of the navbar template and put it in the header. Ours is a bit different looking as ours is within a container with our site main header and ads bar above and to the right but the actual VB bit is the left hand column and the nav bar is in the header so goes right across.
