Bandwidth savings!

How do I save Bandwidth without robbing my users of their amenities?

I want to have a fun and fulfilling board, but yet I don't want to use alot of BW.

Im a new forum and barely have any real traffic and yet I am already at 200 bandwidth.

ANyone with any ideas?

200 what exactly? Megabytes? Gigabytes? Terrabytes?

Just out of total curiosity. Of course, if your board is offering either downloadable videos, an arcade or a gallery, it will be difficult to reduce bandwidth to a tiny amount because of obvious reasons.

And how new is your forum? It may also be because of you having a graphics heavy style or something.

Note 1: I wouldn't really panic unless you have a host offering something like 2GB of bandwidth. I have that in about two days, so if you got that in a week/month/year, then that's pretty good in my opinion.

Note 2: What exactly is the site in question?

Note 3: You use usergroup permissions to disable/allow attachment uploading ability.

200MB isnt critical enough to get me to capped the bandwidth...unless Im on shared host with 100MB storage/1000MB bandwith..
rather than disabling the function, it is better to limit the size of the attachment.

May I suggest you get a better host? You can get a lot more bandwidth than 200mb for cheap..

200mb isn't a lot at all. I have a semi small board and I use 25gb a month.
