Select Forum to post in on "Post New Thread" Page?

I had this on one of my old forums a LONG time ago and I was looking to do this on my vb board.

Basically I would like my members to hit "post new thread" and the forum they are in is selected in a dropdown, but they can change the dropdown to post in any forum from the form, not just the forum they clicked the button from.

Simply put I need the forum/sub-forum to post in to be selectable when posting. Ca VB do this? I looked in mods and in articles to see if I was missing an option or a addon, but I can't find anything.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate any ideas anyone can offer me.

I'm looking for something like this as well.

I'd like to put a "post new thread" button in my forum sidebar, so when a user clicks on it they can get taking to the new thread screen that allows them to select the forum they'd like the question to go in.

Anything like this available?

I'll keep you posted if I find it.

I'm also hoping to change it so that a user can begin the process of posting a new thread before it prompts them to login/register. I do not use activation emails so it should allow me to auto post as soon as registration is complete.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out as well.

Still want to explore this idea a bit.. If nothing turns up in the next week I'm going to see about coding it myself or hiring it out.
