Monetizing a Large Forum?

Hi,

With my new forum (BattleForums.com), I have no idea where to start. I would like to start earning a good revenue from my forum, and am wondering what ad networks I should use, and what kind of advertisements I should place on the forum. The forum has not seen ads in a very long time, so this would be a good time to introduce it... slowly. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know :).
