How to hide particular group of sub-forums under the forum?

How to hide particular group of sub-forums under the forum?

let say

Forum A
subA1
subA2

Forum B
subB1
subB2

and I would like Forum A showing subs, and hide Forum B's subs.

Set display order to 0 to hide forums.

I'm not sure if you can hide the sub forums for Forum B, but not for Forum A. Well, you can do it through Forum permissions and simply hide the subforums from a group all the time, but you can't just hide it from the forum display without doing some sort of modification to the templates.
