tips on selecting moderators & where to find good ones

i'm curious where you guys found your moderators & what characteristics you look for when you select someone to be a moderator.

people who don't want to be mods are the best choice imho.

fair and balanced people who give a damn about your forum.

Usually you want your moderators to be someone who is involved in your forum. I look for people who know the rules of the forum and help users out who don't know the rules. I also look for very even tempered users because sometimes the users that you have to mod can be frustrating.
