customize users name for birthday

Is there a mod or way to make someones username of my choice appear in a different color or bold print? I would like to do this for all members of my forum who have passed away so that they are remembered when their birthday shows up on the forum home page. Possibly have a small icon appear with the name?

Any ideas on this?
