Hidden Upload Quota?
Hiya, I program a very media heavy vbul community site.
Let me preface with: we have turned off attachment quotas in every place we can find them.. we have a huge storage and want people to upload a ton of content. In this specific case, we have a user who's primary usergroup is Administrators. I've checked the user group permissions, and for Admins, they have 0 set as the quota which should be unlimited. Then, in vBulletin Options -> Message Attachment Options we have "Limit Space Taken Up By Attachments (Total)" also set to 0 which should be unlimited. Since yesterday whenever he goes to add an attachment, my admin user has been getting a red bar with the message: "Sum of all attachments by <USERNAME>: 178.15 MB" and it won't let him upload because he is over his quota. This guy is the primary content generator for our site, and removing old attachments is not an option -- I need to find wherever this other quota setting is, and blow the cap off it. TIA for any insight. |
Ask him if he has edited other users threads/posts and reuploaded THEIR attachments or added attachments in that users posts/threads.
If he has, then his attachment quota is also coounting for that user group as well. |
With attachment quotas using a '0' value will only give you unlimited quota if there is no secondary usergroup that has a quota set. Try settting to a real high value instead of '0'.

I doubt this will be changed in any 3.x release.
