Who's Online-HELP!
I installed a mod for this, and it's not working like I thought it would. I can now see Users logged in for the day, which is awesome. However, currently I'm using SMF, and I can see who's online in real time. Regardless of whether a member users the log out feature or not. If they click the close button, it logs them out. Is there a way to make the who's online in real time? I'm changing to vbulletin, but this is one of the quirks I'd like to work out.
Also, how can I get the who's online on the index mainpage? Currently I have to click the link. Last- How can I get the who's browsing the forum at the top, instead of the bottom of the posts? I'd really like it under "threads in forum" or around there. |
1. Vbulletin has a real time who's online built in, not sure what else you are using as it works the same as SMF's. If a user clicks to logout, you cant see them on your site regardless of what forum program your using as they are logged out.
2. If you want the who's online details on the main page, you will need to recode the templates and call the info out from the page you want it on. 3. You will again have to recode the right template to change the layout for that info to be displayed were you want it. |
I'm speaking if they don't log out, they just close the program. It still shows them logged in and "viewing" wherever they left off. I'm missing something I guess. :(
You've lost me on the rest. Can you spell it out for this dumb blond?;) |
If they dont logout, then they should be timed out based on your cookie timeout setting in the admincp.
The placement of the who's online info & who's browsing info is controlled by the template system in Vb, you will need to recode the templates to move the data to were you want it to be displayed. As to the who's online data as you put it on the "index", you will again have to recode templates to place the data were you want it. |
