plugin hook location
if i were to execute a sql query to fetch the new field that i added to 'forum' table in a plugin, what should the hook location be? global_start, all forum display , forum home hook locations. none of 'em worked. could anyone help me on this?

It would depend on where you want to display the information.
Also, post the code you're using. |
Thank you very much for your response. I'm desperately in need of help on this..
I added this 'categoryid' field to the forum table, because we want to be able to customize our ads based on the categoryid. I tried to print $forum[categoryid], $foruminfo[categoryid] in various locations like header, footer, forumbits etc. But it didn't print anything. So i created a plugin like this, // Globalize Variables global $vbulletin; // Query It! $cat = $vbulletin->db->query_first(" SELECT categoryid FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forum WHERE forumid = '" . $vbulletin->foruminfo['forumid'] . "' "); i tried all forumhome, forum display hook locations. Also global_start. Printing $cat[categoryid] still doesn't return anything. First i want to try printing it for testing in one of the templates. Then i want to be able to use this categoryid in a plugin that will parse the contents of an external page and display it beneath the nav bar. This is the other plugin i have for parsing .. ob_start(); include('[domain]/API/ads.cfm?w=160&h=600&as=2&q=&f=0&categoryid=[categoryid from forum db]'); $includedphp = ob_get_contents(); ob_end_clean(); |
