database
heres a quick question my boared is getting semi big and im about to head over the 51 mb database just curious if needed how do i load a database over the 51 mb aloud maxmuim
|
51mb is not a big database.... why do you think it's big? Is your host telling you this, or limiting you to this 51mb size?
|
I think he might be referring to restoring a database using phpmyadmin.....I think..
Shell access is the best and easiest way to backup and restore a database and there are no size limits..... or you can contact your host and they will do it for you |
ahh didn't think of that, I also always use ssh... there's another way? lol
|
i dont need to , but that is the limit and i was wondering tell me more plz , any links lol
thanks |
The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:
Backup: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...nce_ssh_backup Restore: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...ce_ssh_restore P.S. If you don't have shell access, some people have also reported success with these scripts: MySQLDumper: http://www.mysqldumper.de/en/index.php MySQLHotxcopy: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...t=mysqlhotcopy Bigdump: http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php |
