photo gallery options for big boards?
One Dedicated Server:
Asus nclv-d Motherboard Intel Xeon x 2 2.4ghz ht enabled 4G DDR RAM 400 pc3200 (corsair) 2 x SEAGATE 3320620A 320G SATA Raid 1 4U rackmount Domain one: half a million posts, 40,000 members, 300 online average, using photopost pro 6.01 with 25,000 photos. Domain two: thousand posts, 30,000 members, 50 online average, using photopost pro 6.01 with 10,000 photos. Domain three: hundred posts, 100 members, 5 online average, using photopost pro 5.62 with 3,000 photos there is a problem on domain one, it takes about 5 minutes to upload a photo. and takes about 10 minutes to validate a dozen photos. all photos are 800 x 600 and 250k. tech support at photopost has been of no help yet... domain one and two are running vbulletin 3.68, domain three is running photopost alone. my question is... does my server look healthy enough to handle three installations of photopost? and does anyone know of any other gallery software that works well with big boards? thanks in advance for your time and help. |
I recommend special programming
I try many script of gallery which integrate with vbulletin but always have problem I hope jelsoft add gallery as a plug on next project as blog |
when vbulletin makes a gallery, i will buy 10 of them.
i'm so tired of dealing with add ons that have terrible support. i spend more time dealing with gallery problems, than i do with any other script i've ever used. and the only programmers i seem to be able to find that will work on them are amateurs. until then, any more feedback from anyone, other than starting from scratch? thanks. |

they have a long way to go until this new vbulletin gallery has features like photopost.
i look forward to it's manifestation. having one solid vb software package, without any add-ons, is my ultimate goal. then i can have vbulletin actually support my forums. |

I have two PhotoPost Pro licenses but have recently gone to Photoplog on my 2nd largest "Big-Board" and like it a lot... Will let you know what the results are when I upgrade the largest one to 3.7.x and test Photoplog..
It fits well and seems more compatible to me... I'm tired of keeping up with completely separate script integrations.. |
I use Photoplog Pro and am very happy with it.

My frontend is built in joomla, and I used the component jgallery2, but still, that wasn't good enough.
Now my site's galleries are on flickr. I paid USD 25 for a pro account, and while I lost the pageviews at the gallery, if you care to put a link in each one of your pics (which you can do massively) you'll en up having more visits, plus you get more incoming links for pagerank purposes. |
