I don't know if you can put .5 (half a pixel) as cellpadding & cellspacing for the table. It might be interpreted as 5 pixels. Change it to 0 or 1. Also the <p> elements by default have margins, unless a stylesheeting removing them. Change the margins to 1px.

the cell spacing is changing the left to right not top and bottom How do i control vertical spacing with html ?
