Creating a new thread/post
 

Hi,

I just want to pass something by the experienced vB developers.

I need to create a new thread and posts as part of something I need to put together for my forum. I'm planning on creating new threads but they will be directly into the database tables and not using the datastore and not really knowing what the datastore is, if I simply insert a new row for the thread in the appropriate table(s) with mostly default vaules, will this impact anything else within the main vB structure especially the datastore?
