Expanding functionality
 

I was curious what lengths people go to in order to expand the features of their website. I see many big boards adding great features, but these features never appear on vbulletin.org's mod section. Are there more resources for hacks and mods that I don't know about? Are developers who specialize in vB often hired to create custom features?

I used to be able to modify vB, but I currently have no time to learn the newer system. I can't let this stagnate my site though; I need somewhere to go to in other to make my site more relevant in the changing social internet landscape.
