Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving being right around the corner, I think it would be interesting to find out what everyone traditionally eats for Thanksgiving.

So, what are some of your usual turkey day foods and which one out of those is your favorite?

We're pretty boring around here :p I normally roast a turkey, make some greenbean casserole, homemade baked macaroni with crunchy breadcrumb topping (*drool*), mashed potatoes with the gravy from the turkey, cornbread and I make enough to use some of it for cornbread dressing, pecan pie and usually apple pie, as well.

I love greens but no one besides me will eat them so I don't usually make them.

I don't make cranberry sauce b/c no one in our house will eat it. :p

My favorite dish is either greenbean casserole or macaroni and cheese. :D

We usually have Turkey and Ham and all the trimmings.

The menu for this year is:
Turkey probably seasoned with fresh rosemary, sage and garlic from the garden.
Honey Smoked Ham with apple-cinnamon glaze,
Cranberry Apple Stuffing,
Fresh Cranberry Sauce,
Baked Sweet Potatos with peaches,
Ambrosia style fruit salad,
Mashed Potatoes,
turkey and ham gravy.

I'll probably make some sort of squash and a couple of other dishes for our vegetarian friends. My stuffed squash recipe is liked very well.

For desert we'll have the traditional pumpkin and apple pies and I plan on making stuffed apples as well.

My wife loves the green bean casserole so she makes that every year. The turkey is usually cooked fairly traditional but I make an apricot or apple-cinnamon glaze for the ham. The ham comes from our pig that a friend raises for us every year and another friend raises turkeys for us every year.

Obviously we don't have it in the UK, but I'm always aware of it because every few years (like this year) it falls on my birthday.

If we did celebrate it in the UK, I would have roast turkey. :)

I forgot about the sweet potatoes! With marshmallows on top. YUMM!

Nice setup :)

I love ambrosia.

With family:

Traditional turkey (w/Hawaiian sea salt and other ingredients)
Ham (honey glazed)
Stuffed Pork Hash
Gravy (from turkey)
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Mixed green salad
Pasta salad
Corn
Olives
Ambrosia
Cranberry sauce (just for decorative purposes since it is rarely touched)
Assorted homemade deserts (pumpkin pie, custard pie, ice cream)
Other side dishes...

I live in the UK, therefore don't have thanksgiving, but I'd imagine it'd be much like a traditional Christmas dinner... :p

Turkey is boring. I don't cook it, BUT you know the old-timers in the family have to have it!!!

I usually cook Pulled Pork BBQ, Ribs, and Smoked Prime Rib. The rest of the family brings the sides. They usually include Mac and Cheese, Green Beans, Dressing, Potato Salad, Slaw, Deviled Eggs, Collard Greens, and other assorted veggies. Desserts usually consist of Cheesecake, Coconut Cake, Chocolate Pudding Pies, Carrot Cake, and whatever else someone wants to bring.

I am part of a large family. There are usually about 65 people over at one of the aunts houses. We set it up buffet style, and then it is every uncle, aunt, grandma, cousin for themselves!!
