forum jump in header issue

how can I put a forum jump poll down menu in the forum home but not in the homepage?

I tried putting the forum jump in the common template but it shows in both homepage and forum page

how to separate the comon template and homepage-index.php?

when I put something in the common template's header, it shows up from the homepage to the forum page.
How can I custom the scripts/codes on the homepage but not bringing it to the forumhome and other forum pages?
