"Edit User" Button in postbit
Preable:
I turned VBulletin forum into support system for our customers. In some forums users post requests to activate their access to some subforums. Administrator looks through all the requests, verifies data, provided by each user and sets secondary usergroups for certain user according to request. Each time having checked user data, administrator needs to go to user profile and click Options there to go to user edit window. What this hack does? This hack adds a button Edit User to each post. Having clicked this button opens /admincp/user.php?do=edit&u=$post[userid] page in new window. So, my staff needs only one click to access user account data. Hack is fully customizable. The following parameters are adjustable:
Installation Just import XML and check settings at VBulletin standard options section at the very bottom. =====04.11.2007===== Added Russian localization file |

I uploaded image.
I hate template edits. I am using only hacks, that don't require template edits, because in this case I don't need to watch if any templates changed in next VB update. Additionally, this hack would be useful for those, that don't like ot don't know how to edit templates. |
Template edits, IMO, are much easier to manage because you need only knowledge of basic HTML, not any PHP or any other coding.
Not to mention, vBulletin doesn't officially give support for boards with modifications installed, but it does give support for boards with template edits. ;) But I don't want to argue. I was just letting him know that he can accomplish what he's asking for with a template edit. :) |
Thanks for the easy product.
I too have done this but as other's mentioned with a template edit. I added it to the user drop menu. Although easy to work with, I don't like the overhead, no matter how minimal, products can add. But I don't ever want to diminish your contribution, so thank you. |
it would be better if it was in the username menu, thats where it belongs :)
vb should add this as a default for users with access |

Is there any template hook for accomplishing this? |
