PM issue with replies. Help requested :)

Okay so I'm working on a forum and can't for the life of me figure out how to get the PM system to allow for simple replys.

Right now we have three buttons on pm's.
'Site', for the users website.
'Quote', to quote the entire pm in a reply.
'Forward', to forward the entire pm to another user.

But there is no simple 'reply'.

I'm not new to modifications of vB or other forums board systems, but I just can't locate where this would need to be changed. Is it hardcoded into vB this way?

All we want is a simple button for 'reply' that replys to the pm with the subject as 're: ' and nothing posted in the content box, so it's a clean message, in reply to the existing. No quoting nonsense.

Any help with this would be greatly apperchiated.
Thanks.

Isn't that enabled by default? My board has it, as does my test board.. Bottom right.

Maybe I'm missing it?

I'm using the Chestnut skin, and for the like of me I can not find a reply button lol. Just 'quote' and 'site' and 'forward'. Quote's the reply, but it quotes the message and we just want to reply in reglar with out the message quoted.

Although on standard vb the button says reply, it actually quotes the PM, so I guess someone just altered your style to say quote. There is no reply without quote option by default.

Exactly!

'by default'

SO... how do we go about making one without quotes? :)

Any ideas? Anybody?

i mean this has to be possible, right?

Hmm okay I changed the button and tried to c hange the code associated. But it's just a cosmetic change, and still does a quoted reply.

All I'm lookin for is a clean reply, heh.
