"Search IP Addresses" locking fix??
 

With over 80,000 members, the VBulletin "Search IP Addresses" function is no longer functional for me. When a mod does this type of search, the entire table is locked for over 60 seconds or more (during which time nobody can access the site), and when the search is completed, the impending flood of requests drives server loads over 80, resulting in 'server busy' errors for another couple minutes.

Is there any way to fix this? I'm not too familiar with mysql but would an index on the table alleviate this? Thanks for any ideas -

I have over 80K members, but I don't seem to have this same problem. However, I may have come across this problem early on and fixed it as you suggest. I do have "ipaddress" indexed in my user table.
