looking for ways to show many post icons in less space (dropdown, javascript "more")
 

I'm looking for ways to have many post icon choices (~60) but without taking so much space on the new thread page.

My ideal would be some kind of "show more" that would show only two rows at a time and then scroll down to see the next rows and so on. Or maybe two rows deep and a "show more" to show more columns as you want to show more.

Has anyone done this?

I suppose a dropdown menu might be an option too to save space...

This appears to be the only mod for something like this that has been released for 3.5+ to be compatible (I believe) with the current version.

What I'd really like though would be something that would still show a reasonable group of icons at once or right in the dropdown list (using a dhtml dropdown menu like the vbulletin menu rather than a form select dropdown.)

Or something that was still a horizontal panel of post icons but that only took up the "standard out-of-the-box" amount of space but allowed you to have a scrolling effect to dozens more icons without having them take up the whole screen at once and become overwhelming.

This mod is on target, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=113853 but it's not as dynamic as I'd like and it doesn't seem to "remember" it's setting for me -- if I click to hide it once and then go to start a new thread, it's down and displaying all again.
