Anyone know if this is still in the plans....

"BFC_WEBLOG Version 1.5 which will be available for release soon will include integration with the vBulletin Control panel so that settings can be changed without editing the code file. Version 2.0 will be compatible with vBulletin 2.0 and include some of the features available in larger news/comment packages such as PHPNuke."

This is what I am looking for.

No it is no longer in the works. vBPortal is more robust and a viable solution. You should look into that instead. It uses the original BFC_Weblog hack as its base for the news portion.

I don't believe in reinventing the wheel.
