Does anyone know if vBulletin has native functionality to login with email instead of username?

My issue is that users on my website login with their email/pw. My website has dual login functionality to log a user into the website and the vBulletin forum simultaneously. Users also have the option of navigating to the forum and only logging in there. Given my platform's nature, changing from password to username on my end is not really feesable. Id very much like to change vBulletin login from username/pw to email/pw, without changing any of vB's source. I could write a hack to do this real easy, but im wondering if there is any way I can do this without editing anything in the vB code. TIA

Write it with plugins.

This is a 3.5 modification, but it should not be too difficult to make it work on 3.6.
The 3.5 version still requires code edits, maybe it is possible to do with plugins only in 3.6.
