Turn off "new posts" for certain forums
 
Is there way to make certain forums not show in new posts?

Yes, but if you do then the forum is also unsearchable. Disable the "Index New Posts in Search Engine" in the forum manager in the Admincp. I've been looking for the ability to do this and still be able to search the forum, no luck so far.

You may add "&exclude=xx" to the end of the New Posts url... ie. "/forums/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=xx"

forumid. Seperate with commas to extend the list [exclude=1,7,89,567]
