Servers
i read the thread under this one"new host", but i really dont think that helps me with my ?
here is the deal i had to switch to a new domain name(same server though) every since i have done this and my server got back up my forum page loads slow and times me out.. I try to click the admin control panel and it gives me an error EVERY time Now my new domain name to my forums is http://www.guns-n-violence.info/Forum/index.php If u click it odds are it will load normal to you like it has done for almost everyone else, but when i have a friend log into the admin gives the same error to him.. Now if u look ono the lower right corner on ur tool bar while it is loading says it "transferring data from www.guns-n-violence.info (my new server) then it clicks over says looking up www.apokalypse-apk.com (my old server) i think that is the reason but im new to this stuff and not sure what i have to do.. my guess is i have to getinto my admin page of my forums and change the links, but like i said above i cant get into the admin panel any help would be greatly appreciated !! --------------- Added at 00:13 --------------- this is the error i get EVERY TIME Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.apokalypse-apk.com. * Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. |
Did you update the forum and homepage url in your adminCP?
|
no which i figured that but it wont let me get into my conrol panel.. is there another way in there from like a back end?

First go change the URL on your license to the new URL, you don't want to get into problems with our Piracy Department.
Your problems seem to be caused by images etc.. still looking for the old domain. To get back into your AdminCP: Please upload tools.php from the 'do_not_upload' folder of your vBulletin distribution to your admincp directory. Now point your browser to admincp/tools.php. Reset the cookie Domain and Path to the default values. Once your problem is fixed please remove tools.php again from the server. If this does not solve your problems, please clear your browser cookies and cache, restart your browser and try again. |
this can be fixed in your ACP by updating the Forum URL so it doesn't get confused, but take Marco's advice into action first :)

Is the problem with your adminCP do to the fact that the link points to the old domain or you truly can't get in it???
If it is a link issue have you tried http://www.guns-n-violence.info/Forum/admincp |
