How to put a thread into a link to another thread.

I have two threads that are the same thing.
Both in very different parts of the site.
The original thread was used for one subsection of the forum and its been a favorite thread for them for a while.
I recently decided to expand that thread by making another one in the main area of the forums.
I would like the guys that used to post in the original thread to now post in the new thread, but they are set in their ways... they like having that thread in their own forum to post in.

So what i want to do is allow them to have that thread visible in their forum, but have it re-direct them to the thread in the main forum.

Is that possible?

Make a final post with a link in t to the new thread to be used. Then Close the thread after. They can still view the closed thread but if they want to reply they will have to use your new thread.

also, in your new thread you can post a link back to the original thread for others that dont know about it so they may gain the knowledge of what it has to offer.

Or even why not merge the topics :)

Merge them, move the new thread with the option to leave a permanent redirect in the old forum.

Thanks for the advise guys, i was hoping there was a solution that was less obvious to the users.
I wanted them to click on their regular old sticky thread but magically arrive in the new thread.

I think the closest to that would be Marco's idea probably.

I shall try that, thanks everyone.
