How to update forums if I have a lot of hacks installed?

Hello guys,

I wonder, if I will have a lot of hacks installed and I will change vB code how can I update forums then? Is it possible? If yes, will I need to rewrite code and install hacks again?

If the modifications are using plugins and not file edits, you won't have to do anything after an upgrade.

What I want to do is not possible to do with plugins, so I need to rewrite PHP files.

I just saw vBulletin boards that have a LOT of hacks. I mean admins changed almost everything there. How do they update?

I'd double check there must be somewhere suitable to hook in your code. :p

They probably have most their edits in plugins and not the files. If they do then probably compare the new files to old files and transfer any edits they need.

Back up your old files and after upgrade, edit the new ones. :D
