What car do you drive?
I went 2 weeks ago to a dealer to get a Toyota Celica and they had no more. The last year they made was '04 and all they had was the '08 Model.
They had a Toyota Camry, which cost about 28k so I didn't decide to buy it due to the fact that I can simply buy a BMW M3 for that price (2001) but we all know that Alex wants a 2006-07 BMW :pinkb: After looking around and almost all cars were automatic, I found 4 of them (sticks). But didn't like the color on them because see them everywhere. Common colors (black, gray, white). After testing it, I told the dealer I'll be back in two weeks and when I did, my dad took me to another Toyota Dealer to get it a cheap price (Which I did) but they ran out and they call the one I went two weeks ago. I found out they sold that car. :cry1: They call all Toyota dealers in Georgia and they didn't had the color I wanted and the stuff I wanted. So they end up calling the Alabama Toyota dealer and they had it. I ended up waiting another day (damn bastard). After calling me that it arrive, I went to check it out. Everything was what I wanted, except it came with a sunroof :) but, it didn't came with 6-Disc. It only comes with 1 disc. :cry1: Here's some pictures and of course, I'll be buying new rims around November/December. Buying speakers to put in the trunk of the car. :D https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/09/21.jpg https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/09/22.jpg https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/09/23.jpg https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/09/24.jpg https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/09/25.jpg |

Regarding vehicle longetivity, About 10 years ago, I had bought a '88 VW Fox 2-dr wagon for $1250...it had 145,000 miles on it, but always started in the coldest Wisconsin weather. After it turned over 200K, I gave it to my father...he's STILL driving it! I don't think that car will ever die! |

My wife drives a brand new Dodge Durango |
I currently drive a 96 Nissan Maxima....hopefully this will change soon (it ain't my car, I just sold my baby; 1990 Grand Marquis).
I had a chance to buy a Datsun 280Z not long ago and I didn't move on it quick enough...still kicking myself about that one! :( Quote:
As for speakers....if you're going to throw a sub-woofer in the back you might as well replace the ones in the front to. Be careful...that can become an expensive hobby. :p In my Grand Marquis I had a 10 inch woofer in the back inside a custom built (ported) box with a Class D amp pushing around 500watt RMS. I loved it until it beat my car to death and I ended up with so many vibrations that I _had_ to turn the radio on at highway speeds. These days I'm a bigger fan of the sound of an engine turning high RPMs...plus the stereo is a lot of extra weight that I prefer not having. ;) Send me a PM if you need some help/advice on the stereo, I can help you out with that in more ways than one. ;) Also keep in mind that if you're going to do this right you'll be spending a lot of money on things that aren't speakers. For example in my last car the wiring, new alternator, and new batteries ended up costing me way more than the amps, speakers, and custom box. Although I did get a very good deal on my hardware. Also don't go into "stereo shops", most of 'em are con-artists that don't know the first thing about car audio. Deal with local "working out of the house" guys instead and do your research online before you pay cash for anything. :) |
