Newbie help

Hi.

i just bought a VB .
i m setting up my first forum using VB

i have few question to be cleared.

1. Is VB skin n Template the same item?

2. How do i add in the open/close windows function in the main forum thread?

i just add all cat but it seems like all forum is a sub sub forum of the main forum.

ive created

-A
--1A
--2A

-B
--1B
--2B

i need the A and B as main thread with the close /open tab.

1. yes a vbulletin template, style and skin are the same thing. Altho when you get in the admincp, the styles are called styles, and the templates are the html section of the style that you can edit..
2. forum display manager in: admincp > vboptions

The Skin is a loose term , IMHO ... but for a newbie , thats one and the same .

However , inside vbullletin, for a designer , there are several templates and template bits , like the header template , forum home template , footer template , navbar template etc , each containing the codes for each sub section of the total design .

For the #2 , can you show a link to what you have ?

Loco, arind, thanks for sharing.

i m using latest version 3.6.8 ,

2. forum display manager in: admincp > vboptions , i cant see any manger there. only

Forum listing display options and Foru Display Options , can u guide me exact locations and phrase. pardon me here. :)

is it possible to edit the css offline using DW?

a thread id like this one ... with topic titles ...
where as forums and sub forums are the higher level containers which container which contains all the threads .
it would really help to answer your other part of question , if you put the link to your forum .

Theres no css file as such , which you can save and open in dreamweaver . however you can create your own css for a html page and try aplying it through the admin interface under Styles and templates > Stle Manager > Main CSS under all Style Options
