Photopost integration
Has anyone been successful in integrating vbulletin with an existing photopost pro installation so vb handles all of the user registration?
|
By "existing photopost pro installation"; do you mean one that was originally installed as a standalone and now you want to import into vBulletin?
|
Yes, exactly...
|
This is exactly what I'm trying to do as well. I have a standalone photopost pro installation and want to integrate vbulletin so that a user can register in vbulletin and have access to photopost.
More importantly... I want to keep all of the members I already have in photopost... |
I am working on it again tonight. I intend to start with a clean vb database, import the Photopost users into it and then compare the two databases and try to edit by hand if necessary to make them match. I have a couple hundred photopost users.

I thought photopost had a script that made this easy to do though.
What you're planning sounds like a pretty manual way of doing it. I know in the config file for photopost there's options to turn on integration. I'm just wondering what the entire procedure is like. Or if thats it, just turn on those options in config. |
I have made many passes thru the photopost config and int files with all of the options. I have also used the import tool in vbulletin to import the photopost users into the vbulletin database. Unfortunately, when I think I have done things as required and change path to use the vbulletin database, Photopost throws an "unrecoverable" error. I have found a few notes on the Photopost forum that may shed more light but they suggest modifying the group IDs in the Photopost forum which I'm reluctant to do unless I know exactly what I'm doing ... which I don't. I'll do a back up of the photopost db in a minute before I start again. I sure wish there was a clear step by step guide to this. It's amazing that there isn't. If we can figure this out I definitly would like to create one to spare others. There are others who are struggling with this.

Just found this on photopost forums.
http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115241 Looks like someone got it to work with photopost 5.62 and VB 3.6.8 |
For some reason I'm denied permission to access the zip file even though I am a registered and verified user. Were you able to get it? I have not tried this approach so hopefully it will work.
Actually reading that thread thru to the bottom appears they are still having considerable trouble? Am i misreading? |
Yah you're right may be a false alarm.
