$stylevar[imgdir_misc] in Forum Description?

As you can see the Fueled By Ramen section has images as the forum titles. The way I set it up is that I took the Forum Title out and the Forum Description is the image that you see. Currently it is a hard link to the image.

Now I want to install another skin that's black, so I need to have a new set of image/titles that work on a black background, but when I try and do $stylevar[imgdir_misc]/logos/whateverband.jpg, it doesn't actually go to the misc. images directory...

So how can I go about this?
