Multipe Site User Credit System

Hello all

I am trying to either find or hack multiple things together that allow me to have a credit system that spans multiple installations of vbulletin(meaning 500 sites or so). Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

Are all these boards owned by you and on the same server?

davewmack 08-23-2007 12:01 PM

yes they are

So you own (or plan to buy) 500 licenses?

davewmack 08-23-2007 12:06 PM

that is the idea of our company yes

There is a Credits/Points modification available. I guess that with some changes it could be used to store the credits in a central database on the server instead of in the database for each individual forum. How you want to synchronise those "credit accounts" with forum accounts (where membernames could be different) will depend on your specific setup and needs.

Marco

my thought on the matter is that we plan to set up a separate credit system that has its own membernames that allow users to link accounts with the individual forums to that central credit system? Am I dreaming too big?

No, that would be possible. You will only need to store the "central credit idea" in the vBulletin user profile, and a way to let the user add that reference in a secure way (you don't want user B to use the credits of user A ofcourse).

What credit system do you think would be easiest to adapt to the idea we have been discussing?

Sorry but you will need to wait to for someone else to answer that. I don't know much of the details of Credit/Point modifications released.
