Is CHMOD 777 needed when all games are installed
I have a problem with a Spambot or robot who always copies trojans in a subfolder of my arcade and haven't found the script which is doing this.
Is it possible to remove CHMOD 777 from the folders to CHMOD 644 or something like this and keep the arcade up and running? In my understading, this write-permission is only necessary for installing games - when all games are installed, all changes are done in the database or not? When I can disable CHMOD 777 it would really help me to finde the script which copies the malicious code....:( Thanks JoHon |
You only need the 777 setting when you actually installing or removing games.
Once they are installed this can be set back to normal, I always do that because once someone got in and deleted all the flash files and I had to reupload them all manually! |
