I have tried over and over again to get this code to work but it just won't!!!
------- <i>$post[username] leans back and flaps about a bit, accidentally freezing Phoebe and Prue in the process...</i> ------- I want people to be able to type in [power=freeze] and for the code above to appear in its pace, but it won't. How EXACTLY should I type this into the 3 top boxes? I have the param option selected... Someone suggested coming here...please help I need this urgently :) |
Actually Ed said he wrote a small regex to do it, and he suggested searching for his code here.
Also, did you try my replacement variable idea? |
I made a replacement variable, now what do I do?
I typed {freeze} in a post and nothing happened.... |
OK I just tried a replacement variable. It sort-of worked. It replaced {freeze} with the text I had indicated, but it did not parse $post[username] (as I kind of suspected it wouldn't).
So, let's try this. In showthread.php, find Code:
if ($post['receivepm'] and $enablepms==1) { Code:
$post[message] = str_replace("[power=freeze]","<i>$post[username] leans back and flaps about a bit, accidentally freezing Phoebe and Prue in the process...</i>",$post[message]); |
Its still not working :(
|
Whoops, I messed up. Try my code again (I changed it slightly).
|
It still doesn't appear to be working....
oh and by the way is there a way of having brackets and invisible text (text that is the same colour as the background color of the post) so that people can't see it untilt hey highlight it? [spoiler]text[/spoiler] |
Please someone help with my first query! :( :(
