Theoretical Post Limit?
For fun, I had a member work out what the highest possible post number there could be was, and they created some addresses meant to link to stuff like 'Post 10 Billion' or the like, and they found the number stopped at this number:
2,147,483,647. According to what they said, that or 231-1 was the highest theoretically possible number of posts you could ever have on a vBulletin board. Is this correct? A limitation of MYSQL? Just curious, even though no board will probably ever reach that. |
The default fieldtype for the postid in vBulleitn 3.6 is an UNSIGNED INT(10), allowing for 4294967295 values.
If you would need a higher value, then you could simply change the datatype of the field in MySQL. |
Thanks. Wondering why that number on the post stopped there though (the one displayed near the actual post on screen).
