I have a couple of question for you:

?is it necessary to pay or i can get it for free?

?how can i be a member of vbulletin? :s
and finally: ?can you help me in the posibility to have it paying?

Thank you very much.

Hey Tharos.

You can go out to vbulletin.com to see all kinds of pricing. I believe I bought mine for a year for about 170/year or approx. 15/mo (don't quote me there, it may have changed)

There is not a free version

Once you have a license, you can cruise there or here as much as you like and take advantage of the community.

As far as having it a "paying" board, its pretty easy to set up. The problem is getting people to actually pay for whatever your board is about when they can normally find it free.

If you have an amazingly unique idea and a good fan base, its pretty easy to simply ask for donations. There are modifications that force payment to join or post but remember...that may kill traffic pretty severely.

Thank You Very Much
It Was Very Hard To Me To Understood Because I Started To Study English Short Tiem Ago ^^
Mmm One Question More: When I Download Vbulletin I Have To Use It As A Program?
I Start To Create The Forum In It?
I Am So Confused :s

PD: I FOUND A VBULLETIN FOR $85 AND NOTHING ELSE :(

There are two types of licenses; Owned and Leased.

An owned license ($160) allows you to run vBulletin indefinitely and you receive one year of premium support, every year thereafter, at your option, will cost you $35 for premium support.

A leased license ($85) allows you to run vBulletin for a period of 1 year, after that, you will have to remove vBulletin from your server unless you renew the license.

As for creating a forum, you will have to purchase hosting, a license does NOT provide you with hosting, it merely provides you the ability to run the software.

Also, it would be better to post in the Pre-Sales at vBulletin.com, they can give you an official reply on your queries.

I was pretty sure it was $35, seems they've lowered the price :).

Marco van Herwaarden 08-14-2007 11:15 AM

Always has been $30. There have not been any changes in the prices for many years (i think even no changes since the start).

nexialys 08-14-2007 11:42 AM

no change from the start, but it makes 35$CA when you buy it in canadian dollars!

Okay, when you download, you must upload the files to whatever hosting you are using (they must support recent PHP and MYSQL versions) and then run the install script. You then log in as an admin and can set up the forum. It is 100% web based, no programs required, and runs from within the web browser like a normal page, or the forum right here. I cannot explain everything about set up, but you can find that out at the main official site.
