How do I protect my forum from Spammers and Hackers
 

Is there security things to download to prevent hackers.
And with regard to spammers, just got vb, was using smf before and on smf had tons of spammers. Are there mods such as making registration harder and such that will prevent spammers. What do you suggest.

just added no spam!

There's 2 more options for safety...

Add to your config.php the Admins usergroup to the 'protected' groups...

and .htaccess & .htpasswd

do some research ;)

Actually, it's best to add your user ID, not the group to the config file. Otherwise if someone hacks the forum and manages to add themselves to the admin usergroup, you are really stuck (unable to delete their account).
