Now that big-boards.com has gone bye bye - what are other good ways to get your name out there? We seem to come up #4 on Google when you query "Parenting and Pregnancy Message Boards," but our page rank is only a 3. Any tips on what I can do to make us better, faster, stronger? :) We have almost 1/4 million posts!

One of the best thing is to participate to webrings... parenting communities usually get a lot of hits from these...

also, a good thing is to be listed in the http://dmoz.org (ODP) system so your site is indexed with the biggest list of search engines possible... even if they just visit once in a while, they can give some hits.

adding some gadgets like baby-tickers is always good for parenting forums, because you have a good advertising when your members use it on their emails etc... (i'm actually building such system as a product for vB)

make friends with other forums instead of competing them, make your site more focussed on specific topics other parenting sites will not exploit, etc...

actually, your forum title is hilarious... i like it. :) i added it to my bookmarks for further visits... i already have a parenting site myself... and i manage 4 others.
